THE LAST HOUSES OF LONDON

Walker is Co-Founder of The Wilderness Art Collective. For their inaugural show ‘Landlines’ at the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) his intention was try and explore the transitional zones between the city and the country, walking towards the Green Belt from the RGS-IBG in eight walks.

As well as establishing the most direct lines out of the city he was interested to see how city changed towards its periphery and how this was signified.

It also resulted in a series of works entitled ‘The Last Houses of London’, a nominal series of paintings that could be seen as another way of marking the end of the city.
